In this release, fertility.births from the UN archive revisions before 2022 are five-year period totals, not births in the year: divide by 5 for the annual average. The 2022 revision and the default un-wpp source give annual births. A later release corrects the archive values.

Release 2026.10.1 corrects this: from 2026.10.1, fertility.births in the UN archive revisions 1998 to 2019 is the average number of births a year over each five-year period, keyed to the period's middle year. The values in this release stay as they are.
